This was an opportunity to showcase how digital technology is shaping the way today’s oral care is practiced, while providing attendees with broadened clinical knowledge as well as enhanced skills to change their practice. This was a 2-day event with keynote highlighted by speaker James McQuivey, author of “Digital Disruption: Unleashing the Next Wave of Innovation”.

In recent conversations with two of our favorite Jeffs – Dr. Jeff Dalin (JD) and Dr. Jeff Rohde (JR) – we discussed efficiency in the dental practice and picked up some interesting insights. Read on to hear what they had to share!
1. When you hear the word “efficiency” in reference to a dental practice, what comes to mind?
As pointed out in an article earlier this year, unfortunately the idea of “buyer beware” remains particularly important for dental materials.
Counterfeit goods are fake products designed to look like genuine goods. They move through uncontrolled supply chains. “Gray market” goods also move through uncontrolled supply chains and are typically genuine branded products designed, manufactured, registered and labeled specifically for – and originally sold in – one geographic market, but are sold by unauthorized distributors, or others into a different, unintended market through a supply chain outside of the control of the manufacturer. Gray market products sometimes also have falsified labels or packaging to extend their shelf life or make them look more like the products in the unintended market.
During the last dental marketing spotlight, we discussed tips on how dental clinics could get started with Facebook advertising.
In this month’s dental marketing spotlight, we will share tips, tools and examples on how you can get started with Twitter to help build your dental brand online. According to a recent report, Twitter has more than 240 million average monthly active users as of December 31, 2013, an increase of 30 percent year-over-year.
It may present a smaller community, but many of its users are some of the dental industry’s greatest thought leaders, biggest dental brands and leading oral health editors, in addition to many existing customers and potential new customers including coveted young professionals.
